Young to ratio cage upgrades

I am planning on getting a new chameleon. We have a member here who keeps both Furcifer oustaleti and Furcifer verrucosus.

Of course I reached out to let the member know I have interest of buying Furcifer oustaleti. Could I house the offspring in 24x24x48 size? Or should I opt for something smaller and upgrade overtime?

What do you mean by offspring? You can put a baby as in 3-4 months old easily in an adult cage. You just have to make sure it is properly set up. They will screen climb when they are babies so all lights have to be lifted up off the top of the cage a specific distance. then branches get placed in at a specific distance from the screen.
If your looking at getting a baby younger than 3-4 months old then I would avoid this. You have a much higher risk of it failing to thrive. They are much more susceptible and frail when they are hatchlings up to the 3 month mark.

What would be a comfortable stage for 2-3 months? I believe this is the stage of age where the keeper would opt to sell comfortably.
16x16x30? Or could I try 18X18x36? Or something more compact of size?

I would think enclosures for an adult Furcifer oustaleti with the same parameters as an adult Trioceros melleri or Calumma parsonii parsonii. A 16x16x30 enclosure is okay for a grow out baby Furcifer oustaleti enclosure. However for an adult Furcifer oustaleti I would think a minimum 4 foot by 4 foot by 2 foot enclosure. Think of the activity requirements for a Furcifer pardalis that is the same size as Trioceros melleri and Calumma parsonii parsonii.

There so much conflicting information online. However I can provide 4 ft space in primary room.

I personally would not buy a 2 month old. Too much can go wrong. I put a 4 month cham into a 2x2x4 properly set up for it to thrive. Had no issues. You do not have to put a baby in a small cage. Whatever size cage you go with the baby is going to screen climb the top so keep that in mind.

In my experience, I really regret buying a smaller cage to start my cham in. I could have saved the money by just raising the bottom, and slowly dropping it as they get older. Sort of like this: (but excuse the bareness and lack of branches, this was just trying to figure out how to arrange the cage.)
