Hey guys first of all i think this forums great alot of clever people who share their experiences and help in any way well my young veiled cham was rolling on the floor of his tank my temps and humidity are monitored closely everyday alls perfect in that manner he eats drinks and does all the regular bowl movements hes pretty healthy and happy it was really strange to see he didnt look to be in any strain or any stress as he was rolling i say rolling it was actually more like how a dog likes to side roll on a carpet it was really weird he noticed me looking and stopped ? Just wondering has anyone else experienced this with their chameleons at all ?? Thanks for reading and hope someones seen this before.

Without seeing it myself, it sounds like maybe he was rubbing the area, which can be caused by mites or some other type of skin irritation. Can you see anything in the primary area he was rubbing on the floor? You probably wouldn't see mites, but might see some area of irritation, redness, or inflammation.

If he was shedding, or about to shed, that could explain the behavior.

SOme chams will rub on stuff to remove the skin because it is itchy.

Hi guys and thankyou very much for the replies i stayed by my chams side and monitored him closely i knew chams would rub to release skin when shedding but what i think may happened is something has interuppted his shed just recently and was still not shed properly as the closer i looked he looked as if he hadnt shed along his back etc so a raised up his temps a tiny bit little more water and humidity for couple of days and he shed no problems still good advice from everyone there tho as it was such a strange thing to see a chameleon do thankyou :)
