Only in Havre Montana, could you go to a AA meeting in a BAR. While looking at community events I saw the notice for the AA metting at the Crystal Bar. No conflict there!!

Pretty much what I thought. Who is so dumb as to do that? The community center and the library are available. Wonder if that is why we have lots of drunks?? Driving here is scary.

Do they still allow smoking in bars in Montana?
A high percentage of AA members are smokers and AA does not encourage quitting.
The belief is that drinking is more dangerous and if you try to quit both, you will fail everything.
It may be the only place they can have a meeting where members can smoke.
Not likely that anyone would order a drink.

Are you kidding? Montana is very health conscious, smokeing is not allowed in any building open to the public, that now includes bars and cansinos!! Go figure.

Maybe they are making it a big test to the AA goers. By being there and being temped to drink, it might make them realize how to overcome it and have the support of everyone around going threw the same thing. If they could go threw a meeting without drinking and go home and not drink that would be a big plus because they were around alcohol and they didn't succumb to it. If they can do that they can get rid of the habit be more self confidence.

Although it still is really funny and ironic.
