Yemen chameleon foot problem

I have an 8 week old Yemen chameleon, he's well looked after, everything is done regularly and he's happy and friendly, however his front left leg shed abit the other day and now what looks like a blister is left, a friend has told me it looks like stuck shed, but it's slightly purple underneath and looks a little swollen, wondering if anyone could help before I resort to the vets.
I have bathed him and it doesn't seem to have changed.

Could he have burned himself? How close can he get to his heat source?

sometimes very young chameleons take to walking around upside down on the ceiling of their cage (my three month old Panther does it) and if the heat lamp is close to the mesh they can burn themselves.

This can happen when shed skin sticks instead of falling off.
Warm water mistings can help him to get the skin off. When it doesn't , then more stubborn skin requires wetting it with olive oil and helping get the skin off.
What happens is the stuck skin cuts off the blood flow and makes the toe die and get infected.
If it is already infected, then, in addition to getting the stuck shed off, you'll need to apply some diluted povidone iodine to the toe and he may need a vet visit for antibiotics if it doesn't start improving right away.

If an enclosure isn't kept humid enough, this can make it happen , so you'll want to be sure he gets regular mistings and the cage is in the humidity range that it should be.

Here's an excellent forum caresheet with all the details on temperatures and humidity. https://www.chameleonforums.com/care/caresheets/veiled/ Temps are kept a little lower for the youngsters than for older chams.
There are links on that page to much more reliable info about your cham's needs.

Thank you, we've been making him walk in Luke walm watter to soften it and it seems to be getting a little better, he's not in any discomfort with it,
he has a glass Vivarium so he has no way of walking on the ceiling or getting close to his heat lamp so it shouldn't be a burn,
Thank you for the help. It's appreciated
