A couple mornings ago I turned on my veiled's lights and put some crickets in. He climbed to the top and picked off a couple crickets. Over the next 1/2 hour or so he kept opening his mouth like he was yawning (6 times maybe). He also runs up and down the tree (quickly I might add) and rubs against the side of the cage. He is shedding some on his legs. Is this normal behavior. T

I always thought when theyre "yawning" it means theyre flaring their jaws or whatever. Means back off... I could be wrong...

The veil is most likly going through shed. Stretching out the skin to start the process. I had five baby Panthers all doing the yawning / stretching thing Sunday morning, before skins bursted off, and fresh new coats revealed.
