yawning?

so i just got my chameleon and i love him. super fun to have around. but i noticed him yawn a few times today. then he left his mouth open for about 8 seconds or so. i thought he was over heating so i turned his heat bulb off for a little while. is this from it being to hot? or is it him starting his shedding process? i do see signs of him starting to shed. rubbing on the plants and wood.

This is TOMEI btw

Yawning can be totally harmless (shedding eg) but can be a sign if serious health problem (RI) or thermal discomfort (overheating - thermoregulation)

Please what are your daytime and nighttime temps and basking regime and what are your day and night humidity?

Also please review your cage setup: Fake plants and vines are life threatening for the chameleon and based on these mistakes, there might be other issues to be finetuned in your cage: post a pic

i ordered a ficus this morning, also a temp gauge. stores are closed around me due to the sickness going around. also update. he was shedding. the day after this post i woke up and he was rubbing on his vines. he hasnt yawned since so i am assuming it was to his shedding. i guess wwhen i bought him he was starting to shed but had no idea lol. ALL THIS INFO IS VERY HELPFUL! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
