Yarn

i am making a free range for my chams, i was wondering if yarn was safe to use? its not going in their cages so it wont get wet and im only using it to tie sticks together into a Tee-pee

I can't imagine it would be a problem, I have more yarn knowledge than chameleon knowledge though... Plastic-coated wire might possibly work better for your tee-pee, but it's pretty subjective. The only vague issue I could foresee is the yarn becoming frayed and not holding, or being tangled around feet, or ingested somehow, but only an incredibly determinedly accident-prone chameleon would think up those things. I'd say go for it, but keep an eye for the first few weeks and see if there were any problems.

I would not use it. It will get wet and disentegrate over time. I would stick with zip ties or some kind of coated wire. oops! Saw it is not going to get wet! Unless you are worried about them eating it, then I would say it is ok!

i figured it would my concerns were getting wet and breeding bacteria (thats why its for free range) getting tangled (i thought if i made it tight enough no worries) and possibly getting eaten. but im so over protective so i wanted someone to give me the ok lol

i use hemp a lot. i try not to use plastic coated wire because its alot harder to take something apart with that (hemp and yarn are easily cut) and zip ties dont work very well
