So, my panther is starting to mellow out a bit and accept me, so much so that he now approaches my hand and takes food directly in his mouth.
He also gets excited every couple of days for the occasional hornworm or superworm.
I've been gorging the hornworms the past few days and they're so fat they can hardly move (one actually went onto pupal stage this week).
Tonight I find a nice big juicy one for a treat.
I open the cage, and my guy practically runs down the branch to me.
This is great, he really trusts me!
He shoots forward and chomps down on the front of the worm with gusto.
Causing pressure which causes the butt end of the worm to explode.
Into my face, specifically poop and guts in my beard and mouth.
My excitement died out pretty quickly.
