So,I'm to chams and been doing my research on veileds.but also like the looks of carpets.Would it be cool to have both in the same cage?

No No No No No No No. Different temp needs, different sizes as adults, and would be bad for both. I STRONGLY advise you NOT to put them together. If you want both, you can buy both, but would need two different enclosures.

I'm no help since I don't know much about carpets but I would think not. Someone with info will post soon I'm sure.

ok thanx for the heads up!!!!/i know I'm getting one so its hard to decide.so which would be easier to care for?

MORE RESEARCH NEEDED!! ;)

This is not "unadvisable". It's not possible. One chameleon will end up dead.

No veiled together either!
And no panthers while we're on the topic!

Do not house chameleons together!

Well, that depends, for some people, either would be easy. It depends if you are an experienced keeper. If not, I suggest the Veiled Chameleon, fairly easy first Chameleon.

Umm, they can be, just like I stated above, it depends on if you have had experience with any type of Chameleon. They can be difficult because they are a montane.

After you read "raising Kitty" you need to do some further research. Also search prior threads on housing and care of the different types of Chams, Don't limit your research to this forum. Both you and your new cham will benifit from you making an informed decision and having everything reaady when you bring the chameleon home. I would just start with one, but if you want two different types, Good Luck.

I have a cage already,its 46"x46"x 3 foot.its not mes,it has 1/2 inch holes.Will this be a good starter cage?if someone can tell how to post a pic I will.

If it could be flipped on its side it would be okay. Chameleons need height more than width. That cage would be best for a nearly fully grown male Veiled or panther. females and juveniles would do better in a smaller enclosure. You would have a hard time keeping any food contained as it could all escape through the holes.

what is it made out of?
when you say it has holes, do you mean it is a wire cage?

Despite the propensity for people to shout "screen cage!" there ARE other options.

Where did you hear females need smaller enclosures?
