worst experience ever :(

Well today i got my little girl out when i was cleaning her viv, now normally shell happily sit on the top of the bed once shes climbed up, but not today, my mam had decided to put a cup of coffee on the floor for me, and you can guess the rest the chameleon decided to go take a closer look, and ended up head first into the cup, i got her straight back out and into her viv spraying her down with clean water, she seems to be her self wanting to come back out but im worried and cant get in touch with any vets

Well, at least she got a little bit of calcium. That's a funny story though! Hope she's alright.

Just watch that she is not breathing weird or holding her mouth open like she is gasping for air. Hopefully you got her out quick enough and she did not get any coffee in her lungs. There was someone on here last week whose cham fell in a the dogs water bowl. This chameleon actually was not breathing and they brought it back to life with cpr but it was having breathing difficulties. How long was your chameleon in the cup?

few seconds tops, as soon as i saw it happen it went in slow motion, i jumped across the room and tipped the cup over, in which ive now got a bent\broke index finger, lol but shes still climbing all over her viv and is now currently up against the glass what she does when she wants out,

Well that is good news! You have to think of every little thing really. Look around the room for all potential hazards. My friends bird drown in their bucket. They were cleaning the floor and it flew out from the cage and into the bucket. They did not even know and went to empty the bucket and the bird was in the water. It was terrible!!!

just shows how quick terrible things can happen, id have been devastated if she passed away because of my neglect , shes still wanting to come back out lol

No breathing difficulties, and no burns, so yes you got lucky for that....she's obviously fine because you were watching her so you actually saved her life too....

When things like this have happened with my pets it makes me so glad I don't have kids - it's a learning experience though mate so don't beat yourself up about it. A preventable accident is one thing - really neglecting is another.

to the question about how hot was the coffee, i have my coffee 3/4 cold milk, due to an mucked up operation i struggle with anything over warm so that wasn't a worry, i was just paranoid about her getting sticky coffee in her lungs, but shes eating fine and bein her normal loopy self, but thanks for all the supportive comments.

regular with 2 sugars lol surprised she wasn't hyper, must be good at holding her breath the poor little thing. its amazing how attached you get to these creatures their just so fascinating to watch, some of the things she manages to do are beyond me, especially using her tail to lower her self down, she has a real thing for coming into my bed and sitting on my shoulder now, i just need to buy her a nail file now as there very sharp lol
