Worried

I have recently gotten my first Chameleon (8 days ago). He is a veiled about 2 years old. I have plenty of reptile experience, just not with Chameleons. I have done a lot of research, established he cage about a month before bringing him home, and followed all the preparation advice. The problem is I don't think he is eating. The cage I have him in is 2 'x 2 'x 4' tall. I have put plenty of crickets (and tried meal-worms) in his cage but they go to the bottom and he stays at the top. He still looks healthy and I see him drinking from his dripper often, but I haven't seen him eat. I am a worried first time mom and I would appreciate any advice. Thank you in advance. DC :(

Are the crix dissapearing? They have a habbit of going up the screen eventually torwards light. I'm oposite my guy eats great.. never seen him drink. But he's healthy!

Welcome to CF glad u found us.. stay awhile. :) ill never leave! ;)

If hes healthy and drinking he should be fine ive heard of cases on the forums where some chams take time to get comfortable(some take really long)...just a suggestion

Welcome to the forums:)

when I took in my other chameleon from another member he did not eat for about 10 days!!! He did drink water though, and that is more critical when they are adults than the food. Try putting them in a cup more towards the top and see if he won't eat that way.

Thank you for helping to ease my worries. This morning I hung a bowl close to his favorite perch and put the crickets in the bowl. I still have not seen him eat, but he did crawl over to look. He appears interested.
