Worried about Ringo

Well today I figured I'd take both plants out so the can get some nice sunlight. Well I took Ringo outside so he could get some sunlight too so I could clean his cage. Went to mist his plant while he was on it which he was completely fine with. Then as I was trying to pick him up off his plant to take them back inside. He decided that he didnt want to go back in and jumped away from me trying to get onto the BBQ. He missed and fell about 3 feet to cement.

I hurried and grabbed him, inspect him and everything. He looked fine but insisted that he wanted to still stay outside and as I was heading to the door with him again he tried scrambing away. As he scrambed away he slid and fell again :(. I picked him up and rushed him inside to where my husband was and my husband inspected him and he seems to be fine.

Right now I'm just wo worried about him and feel so bad right now. I know that there might be a couple saying that's the reason why your not suppose to handle them. Just me after todays incident, I might not pick them up to even take them outside anymore. I just feel so bad and worried about him right now .

he should be ok. Just keep an eye on him. My one chameleon has fallen from much higher than that. I handle my chameleons all day long and rotate the two that I have between outdoor cages, free range, and inside depending on weather. I am one who disagrees with the "no handle" theory but that is just me and my opinion.

My biggest concern is having the chameleon outside without a cage. That's a situation that requires someone close by with eyes on the surrounding area. They are easy prey for some birds.

just keep an eye on him and see if he uses all his legs and acts like his normal self. my chams have all had some sort of fall at one point and they were all fine. worrying about your cham is just part of having one. :):):)

I was outside with him. When I clean their cages I live them inside on their tree, then clean. Every sunday I take the plants outside so they can get some natural sunlight. Then later in the afternoon I bring the plants in 5 min after I clean cages. Today I figured I'd let Ringo get some sunlight so I took him outside right before I cleaned and thats what happened. I refuse to leave them outside without supervision and cant do so where I live. Jst bad judgement on my part today.

I might have to freerange with my girl Angel. She shows off her pretty green when she's not in her cage. Hates being in that cage. Ringo could care less about being out of his cage.

don't be so hard on yourself. you'll know for next time to have him secure in your hands when moving him in and out.
