Worried About Egg Binding

Hello there fellow Chameleon enthusiasts!!

I have a female Veiled Chameleon around 10-11 months old, she has just started changing into bright colours and we think she is ready to lay eggs.

We set up a laying bin for her but after realising it was WAY too shallow (twice) we changed it and now have a fairly large and deep plant pot full of damp play sand for her to burrow into.

We are extremely worried about her as we have moved her about whilst she was digging and now she isnt digging or interested in the laying bin now. My boyfriend loved to watch her dig but after doing some research we realise that was a BIG no go, as she may have abondoned the hole and may become egg bound. Yesterday she filled the hole in that she had dug, does this mean she has already laid?

Do chameleons only dig when they are ready to lay eggs?
How do you know when she has laid her eggs?
Is it safe to check?
Should we take her to the vet ASAP?
She still looks bloated and full of eggs but she is still hungry and eating well, she is not lethargic and is back to her old self.

Please help!

If you need a photo please dont hesitate to ask.

This is kind of after the fact but tracking their weight with a food scale makes it easier to know if they have laid their eggs or not. A quick trip to the scale is easier than digging thru the bin every night after they go to sleep.

I honestly don't have scales to weigh her on but thats a good idea!
Should I take her to the vets, just in case, or would that disturb her even more?!
Also somebody on facebook mentioned putting coconut fibres with the play sand to make it easier for her to dig, but would this disturb her even more aswell?

She has been eating 3-4 dusted locusts a day so I'm just thinking whether she is actually ready to lay or not!

She hasn't been to the toilet at all for a couple of days, how often should female Veiled Chams be going to the loo at that age? Do they go to the loo whilst they lay?

Any information is appreciated, thank you.
