Worm day at the ranch

I got in some butter worms today and had some silkies that were growing pretty good and decided today would be worm day for the crew. Their diet is mostly crickets with supers thrown in now and again, but I wanted to give them some variety.

It was so funny to watch. The adults had to sit there and stare awhile at the worms to see if they looked at food. The teenagers chomped down on the silkies then the butters. They have had silkies before so I think they recognized them.

I would encourage everyone to give their chams an assortment of feeders for their health and just because it keeps them interested.

Oh, and I hung up some kale in the cages of the chams that likes it and they were chomping. A very happy afternoon at the ranch.

I struggle to get Tommy to eat anything other than locusts, waxworms and silkies. I offered him and Amy some roaches for the first time yesterday - Amy devoured hers after eyeing them up for a bit, but Tommy just looked down his nose in disgust, lol!

I never had any luck with roaches. My big male headed towards the far side of his cage and looked at me like "and what do you expect me to do with that????"

Never used locusts and waxworms are too small for the adults, but they do like silkies, the bigger the better. They all seemed to enjoy eating the butters.

I purchased some butter worms about 2 weeks ago and have made every attempt to feed some to my 9 month old veiled, but he won't eat them. I tried cup feeding, free ranging them in his cage but no deal, he won't eat them. any suggestions? He won't eat from my hand.
