My baby veiled is refusing to eat and I don't know why or how to stimulate his appetite. His food is dubias. Any help at all would be much appreciated.

I think I'd check with the breeder to see what he was fed before you got him. They don't necessarily recognize new insects as food right off. How old is he? How long have you had him? When did he stop eating? Did you offer any other feeders before the dubia?

There are several reasons a newly acquired cham won't eat...

they are upset by the move,
they are scared or preoccupied by something they can see in the room (another animal, too much activity, feel vulnerable or exposed to view all the time),
they are sick or getting dehydrated (dehydrated chams eat less and less), or maybe there are too many feeders available all at the same time. Little chams can get mesmerized by too much feeder motion and just sit there watching.

Just heard back from the breeder and they said he's 3 months old and been bein fed small crickets. Could it just be that he doesn't know that a roach is food?

Yes that is a possibility and some chams just don't like roaches. Another possibility is that the food you are feeding is too big. Just a thought

yea i'd say that's what it is. I have a 3 month old panther cham that thinks silkworms are from another planet. while my other 3 month old panther gobbles them up.

I'd try to get some small crickets and let him get some food in him, then try to introduce other insects slowly. like one roach every other day. eventually he will get used to them.

good luck tho :)

Get a variety of feeders and try them out. All my chams love different feeders!

Experiment and find what your little guy likes!

Ok I got him some crickets and I managed to get him to eat one so now I know that he'll eat those so I'll start breeding those and feeding him them. I also think he's dehydrated but he has a dripper that goes steady all day and he is misted several times a day. Is there anything I can do to encourage him to drink? And also I was wondering if he looked like he needed to be taken to the vet like ASAP or if he was healthy enough that I can just do what I can do to get him to eat/drink more?

I know it was a beardie but anyway, I had a baby Beardie who would not eat and i resorted to hand feeding. it went from that to me holding it by a leg, then to her eating it on her own. I would say it's worth a try.
