Won't Eat His Vegetables

My veiled won't eat his veggies, but insists on eating his hibiscus tree leaves. I've tried hanging different greens in his enclosure, chopping them up and putting them in a bowl, and even hand feeding.

Any suggestions?

Does he really need veggies or are the hibiscus leaves enough?

He's a very stubborn butt.

Haha, well they do love them. They're packed with Calcium and Vitamin C. I use it to gutload. Mine will eat the leaves when she's outside and gets the chance.


Oh, have you tried Cilantro or Basil? My girl loves that. Also, bananas. She as a thing for them.

My Veiled loves her hibiscus as well, I haven't tried herbs yet tho

LoL. Glad to see I'm not the only one. I tried many times with different greens, trying to give my veiled veggies to no avail. Then one day, I watched him eat his hibiscus. Cham salad! He eats leaves quite frequently, but his favorites are buds and the occasional blooming flower. I have had success with fruits though, his favorite is watermelon.

Mine ate all the leaves off his hibiscus and I had to get a new one because they didn't grow back
