My cham is the same way, wont do a cup. I guess he just loves the thrill of the hunt. Wish i had helpful advice here

How long have you been trying to cup feed? They will see the food source and when they get hungry enuff they will go there and eat. But if you cave and let them free range then they have no reason to change their behavior. The crickets will be seen moving and trigger their attention. The cup is just new to them and makes them nervous... they will get used to it.

Will they tong feed? If so feed them and slowly move the tongs closer to the cup each time you feed. Then they will get to where they see the feeders going into the cup and it will trigger the response to feed.

My guy wouldnt cup feed or tong feed but he is still very little just two months and got him a week an a half ago, taking it slow... Any suggestions for getin him used to tong or hand feeding???

i made a cup feeder and used for the first time yesterday. my little guy loved it. it was the first time i actually seen him eat too. i just dumped some crickets in the cup put him next to it and got a show in return. it was utterly awesome to watch

If they are hungry they will eat it, but if you cave in who is training who?

Ok, it's made from a milk bottle ATM

that's a great design for most - but I have one animal who would refuse to eat from such a thing because it is essentially white in colour, right? He will not eat from a white anything, nor anything shiny. Must be dark, her prefers green or brown. Picky picky.

Hello everyone,
I've got a similar problem with my chameleon. I got him 2 days ago, and he hasn't eaten anything since then, although he had a bowl with crickets and another one with tiny roaches (about 5-7mm). I thought it was normal, as he needs to get used to new environment. But today I noticed that he was wandering around his cage, eating some mint leaves and "shooting" his tongue at random places as if he was hunting. It looked like he was hungry. So, I took one roach and put it on a branch right in front of the cham and he ate it! I fed him with a couple of roaches, but four of them escaped, should I be worried? Also, should I stop feeding him like this, and wait till he's hungry enough to eat from a bowl? How long can he go withour food (he's 3 months old)? Or should I wait with the bowl feeding till he is settled in new place and in the meantime feed him like I did today? It's troublesome because of the escaping roaches :( I'd appreciate any advice!

My gracefuls were never big cup feeders I started by putting crickets in there cups since they are most active and tilting the cup so if they tried hard enough they could escape it caught my chams attention eventually they just started running over to the cup before I could even put it in there cage this took about a month or so although my male thinks he's the king and won't touch the cup till I pull my hand of the cage and close the door lol
