Winter Heating for 3? HELP

Good morning,

Since its getting colder and faster than expected. I'm stuck with fringe to Fonda heat source for the 3 of my lizards. I have basking bulbs but I don't think that they are getting enough warmth from them. Sadly the heater doesn't work in the apartment and the Landlord refuses to fix it. So what's the best way to keep them warm at least? I have Kayla, Waldo, and my beardie I need to plan for.

During the summer my beardie would be outside, but know I need to build an indoor enclosure for him. Or should I just let him go into hibernation?

I use a oil filled radiator heater, keeps the temperatures more consistent than an electric heater. I would be raising some h*ll if they won't fix my heat.

Back in June, very beginning of Summer, the AC unit went out, took the Landlord 3 weeks to decide to buy 2 window units. Then we still had to borrow a window unit from my husbands uncle. They don't care about their tenants and sadly we have 5 months :(

I have an electric space heater on a timer in my Cham room. It turns off at night so the room can cool down into the mid 60's, and comes on for 8 hours during the day. It has a cheap thermostat on it so it will turn off when it heats the room to 75. Works great for my melleri. There's also multiple basking lights in the room.

Your landlord blows chunks! For the chams I would get a couple heat emmiters on ebay or amazon. Don't place then too close to the cages and place the about 1/2 the way up the side of the cage. Make sure they are not hot enough to hurt the cham inside the cage. Put your hand inside to check.

Letting your beardie hibernate for a few months is fine if he is an adult. I never hibernate a small dragon. Do you know how to put him into hibernation and bring him out? That is very important or you can kill him.

Beardie is just over 4 yrs old. We've had him for a year but since we lived in a a house with a heater, he never went into hibernation last year. So I'm a little stumped on how to let him go into hibernation.

Do you have to pay utilities (electric) seperate from rent?
If not, get your self a space heater with thermostate, large enough to warm your whole appartment, and simply set it for a nice comfortable temp and leave it on.

See how your butt-wipe landlord enjoys paying for it

Also, check the rental laws and regulations from your city government.
Refusing to provide renters with warmth in the winter is likely to be illegal and could carry a nice fine for him to pay for.

What are your temps like in the cages? For my adult panthers and veiled, I can let the room go to 65 during the day as long as the top half of the cage is 70 or more and the basking spot is warm enough (a second, non spot heat lamp can work for this on the opposite side of the top where the basking bulb is.) Also, to prevent burns, they need to be able to thermoregulate under the basking spot. That means you need several branches at different distances from the bulb so they can move between them as needed.
