Will this stress him too much?

We are going to be out of the country for about 12 days and will be putting Picasso in the vet clinic to be taken care of......we will take his cage and have to teach the vet how we have to care for him because of his disability, he will not get to free range at the vets like he does at home, we would like to have someone come to the house and keep him but we don't know anyone with reptile experience or if anyone would do all that we have to do with him.....so my question is about him becoming too stressed out at the vets and not eating or doing health wise very well...any recommendations would be greatly appricaiated.....Thanks

I would not go away and leave that little man at the vet. You need to find someone to come to your house and still it might be a bad idea to leave him at this point. My guys all suffered with my experienced cham/houesitter of three plus years when we were gone. By suffer, I mean grieving from us being gone.

Thanks Jann, looks like we need to find a sitter that is exprienced with chameleons, I know I will be stressed the entire time we are gone, just have some thinking to do.

I agree with Jann, your guy has a disability that even an experienced reptile owner would not know how to care for without your training.

If you could find a friend or someone you trust, you could have them come to your home once a day and feed him and check his water.

You could train this person how to do it, and even write out a procedure and a cell number to call if they run into problems.
