ok so i have a double fixture an i would like the cage to light up a little more so i decided to get a grow light but i couldn't find what i thought would work in the right size so i just would like some input on this light.

light----life glo
size ---t8 15w 6700k
lumen--960
ideal for---freshwater,saltwater,coral, invertebrates, aviary, and planted aquariums
it is supposed to be used for an aquarium but i was wondering if i could use it as a grow light for my live plants in vinnies cage

Honestly for the plants you would be using (mostly tropical/indoor) the chams 5.0 UVB will give the plants everything they need and then more... My hibiscus is actually growing out of control from the tube light I have soif your worried about it I would just give your guy another UVB... can't hurt to have more UVB light :)

i would and just might if this light wont work but if is a fraction of the price and quite a bit brighter. so if i can i would like to use it to brighten his cage up a bit too. my biggest question is do these light contain any thing that could pose a threat to him if not it is alot more practical to use

from what i can see on my phone it dosent look like that light puts out any UVB.. i would think it is safe from what i see.. u can overdo UVB just to clarify, esspechially if your cham doesnt have good spots to be able to get outta the light.

i didn't think it put out any uvb either but it has the light spectrum graph just like the one with uvb above but doesn't say anything about uvb

I run 1 reltisun 5.0 and one daylight 6500k both 4' t-8 in the winter i run 2 reptisun 5.0 t-8s .Thats a good 2nd bulb to run with a reptisun 5.0

Just mentioning that I suspect there was some confusion here...when I read it I thought you were suggesting this as an alternative bulb, not a bulb used at the same time as the UVB bulb. I'm sure that colored the comments you got.

Yes, yes, I know you mentioned having a double fixture, but it was not at all obvious to me that you were offering the bulb as a companion. It seemed you were offering it as an alternative.

I'm just putting that out there because others will post similar questions and they would benefit from knowing what information most helpful.

nope one uvb and one "grow light" i just want my plant to thrive and a little more light without spending 30 on another uvb i got the one in the picture for about 20 and that's just too much money for a second bulb that's just for light

Agreed, I do the same, a 6500 aquarium. Keeps the cage nice and bright, great for the plants and my chams do very well with it :)

Hoj- I'm a bit confused? If we take a Cham outside it is WAY more output of UVB than keeping them under the lights even if there were more than one and if it's a problem with having nowhere to hide from light won't this bulb provide the same issue? I'm not trying to put anyone on the spot I'm just trying to get my issue straight because I'm considering putting a second UVB bulb on the cage as my hibiscus has completely enveloped all area of UVB output darkening the whole cage...
