Will 1000 crickets fit in a 10 gallon tank with egg crates?

Planning to bulk order crickets, was wondering if the 10 gallon will be sufficient.

I usually use a plastic tote about the size of a recycling bin. I think a 10 gal tank might be too small. I think you'll end up with more die off if they're over crowded. And dead crickets really stink.
If you cut out some sections of the lid, and hot glue some aluminum screen over the holes, a plastic tote will probably work out a lot better.

No, I think it will be way too crowded. I have done 500 and that is about the most I would do and they were small ones like 1/4 inch

Pinhead to small, maybe but cramped. I use the 24"l x 20"w x 24"h plastic bins with no lid. They will easily keep 1000 for a month of feeding. Cleaning as necessary, but IMPORTANT!

I agree that seems way too small for 1K crickets. I used a plastic storage bin. I cut the bottom of the container our and hot glued screen mesh for a bottom then set the bin into one of those black plastic trays that are used for winter boots. I got the screen, bin and trays from Home Depot. Use aluminum screen for the flooring because the crix will eat through fiberglass screen. Anyway once the screen is secure the crix frass will drop through the screen onto the tray, making clean up much easier.

I have done 1000 3/4 to 1 inch crickets in a 10gal, I had substrate so that they have something beyond cricket fecal to crawl on, also made it easier to clean. You are going to have die off because of the crowed but my crickets lasted about a month with die off and feeding them out to multiply creatures. keep them clean and keep them feed, use plenty of egg crate.

Go with a plastic bin or container, they can be had for cheap. I would suggest bigger than a 10gal tank if using glass

Agree with most. Substrate helps out alot. Ventilation and heat are huge factors. I buy 1000 which last about 3 weeks for my chems and I have maybe 10 deaths total. Most of it is from already injured during delivery.

Dremel or cutting disc. If not, run the risk of cracking the bin.

Most plastic bin covers can easily be cut with a box cutter.
