Wild Caught Jackson

Hello all, we recently acquired a wild caught male Jackson. I am not sure how old he is, but including his tail he is about 9-10" so I am guessing not full grown quite yet. I know parasites are an issue with wc chameleons, and I am taking a fecal sample to the vet as soon as I can.

Is there anything else I should be aware of regarding my wc cham?

Thanks much!

I'd just make sure to get him as hydrated as possible first before doing any fecals. Wait about a week or so and in that time give him daily long misting sessions of at least 20 mins. Let him sit and drink to his content. Then get the fecals done and do the dewormng. Meds are hell on the animals kidneys so he needs to start off hydrated. Otherwise you lose them when administersing the dewormer.

Actually I have never seen him drink. I have two drippers going, so I assume he drinks when I am not there. He doesn't seem to like it when I mist the cage, but I do it anyways. So I should wait a bit before taking the fecal sample in to the vet?

what color is the urate?

If the urate is yellow he is mildly dehydrated, if its orange hes majorly dehydrated. I usually wait a week or so to let them hydrate fully and to let them acclimate a bit before administering any meds. I'd rather start them off as strong as possible before giving them anything. While giving the dewormer make sure hes drinking because that dewormer causes dehydration.
