Why?

I don't know if this is the right place to type this caus I'm new, but anyway I help caus whenever I need to feed him he always wants to get out and I have know idea why he does this. My guess was that he doesn't get enough to eat or he doesn't have enough places to climb. By the way if u want to know how much he eats is three big crickets a day and he is a veiled chameleon

How old is your chameleon? Seems like that might be a pretty light eating schedule. Do you feed him anything else?

Also, how large is your enclosure?

The main reason chams want to come out of their cage when you open it is that they are not happy with their environment. post lots of pics of your cage and chameleon. Good Luck

The enclosure is 2 feet long and 1 ft width and 1 ft tall I know I've should have gotten a taller one caus I just realized that they like to climb, I have no idea how old he is but he has been living with me a week

Three crickets for an adult veiled isn't very much. Make sure to fill out the request for help questionaire, as it really does help everyone answer your questions, and consider feeding him more (much more).

Info about my Cham

Your Chameleon - a veiled, male I don't know the age and not an adult, living with me for a week
Handling - 1 or 2 times a day
Feeding- crickets, three day. Tryin to find we're else to buy different food for him Not gut loading, need help with that to
Supplements - Need help findin that to. Have no idea how to do that dusting your feeders with
Watering - Mist with a bottle, every 30 min or every hour, I have seen him drink water, his colors are green or lime green I think and darkish brownish, he has a stripe that changes from white to black.
Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites? No
History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.

Cage Info:
Cage type- it has glass around it, but a screen at the top
Lighting - UVA of corse and 120, hours r 7 am to 7 pm
Temperature -80 to 90 and 1 ft from the ground overnight temp? 65 to 75
Humidity - staying at 50 and using a misting bottle
Plants - No plants
Placement - Where is your cage located? On top of my drawer. traffic areas? It is about 5 to 6ft from the ground
Location - the Permian basin in tx

Current problem- I have no idea y he wants to get out of his enclosure whenever I need to feed him.

Please post some pictures of him and his enclosure. Veileds hate being caged and it's normal for them to want out. If left in a cage, even an adequate cage all the time without human interaction they will become territorial and cage aggressive. It does sound like you have an inappropriate set up for him and not feeding him enough. A young veiled under 6 months should be eating 12 or more feeders a day. Below is my blog for new keepers.
