why so small????

whats his lenght from nose to butt???

there is a form to fill out for help on here

but some chams just grow different than others you might want to take a poop sample to the vet and have him checked out to see if he might have any parasites bro

I'm using the screen as a size reference, so I may be off, but he looks fine to me. Maybe a little small for 9 months, but he doesn't look like he is 3 months old at all. They grow at different rates. Food intake, heat, enclosure, stress levels, parasites, etc. all play a part in it.

If you're worried, get a fecal done to rule out parasites.

He does look a little immature as well as a bit small, but that probably means he's just a late bloomer. What has he been eating? You could let him have as much as he wants for a bit, or give him a few extra bluebottles for protein.........see if that gets him going :)

i feed him baby crickets but i dont feed him every day when i feed him i give him 15 baby crickets i used to give him silkworms and hornworms as a treat

Feed him every day, give him more food. He'll grow quicker :) How small are the crickets? Have you been giving proper vitamin supplements? More variety in feeders is always better than less.........but crickets and locusts are very easy to mix up as staples

i get my crickets at petco and get small crickets i tried to breed crickets but some how fruit flies invaded the whole cricket breeding enclosure:(:(:(
i give him calcium every feeding and d3 twice a month

Hello,
twice a month is not enough.
Chameleons need d3 in order to properly use Calcium für building up their bones.
So if they do not have enough of it, you might give them as much calcium as you want and they will still not be able to use it. I feed d3 twice a week. Especially while your Chameleon is still growing fast, a proper provision of d3 is absolutely essential.
P.S. please excuse the bad english as i´m from germany

No, twice a month is enough.

Let's be clear. The number of times you may want to supplement your chameleon should be based on the BRAND! Twice a month with one brand may be enough while another brand is 100+ times less potent than the first brand.

I think thats the first time i've ever heard of anyone using d3 that much..

Think of it this way, some human males can grow a beard when they are 15, and i mean BEARDS! but others cant till they are early/mid 20s.. some grow to their full height in high school, others grow a few inches in college. Its no different for the chameleons.

They're already getting some d3 from their UVB bulb and if he's getting some outdoor time, then he's getting even more from the sun. Twice a month is enought, don't want d3 to build up in their system.

Edit: What Pssh said is very true! What brand are you using?

Yeah, the schedule with repcal that is generally accepted is 2 or so times a month depending on how much natural sunlight the animal gets.

Miner-all on the other hand, for example, would still deliver less than repcal (used 2 a month) when it is used at 2 times a week. Big difference.

so let me get this right d3 twice a month, vitamins how often???, and calcium every other feeding

Here's what I've been told, D3 twice a month, Multivitamins twice a month, and a sprinkle (not caked on) calcium every day, but not necessarily every feeder cricket.

So, what I do is rotate weekends, one saturday is a multi-v, the next saturday is D3, then the next a multi-v, and so on. and on the weekdays I just give a light dusting on the crickets of calcium powder, and about 30 crickets a day (15 crickets at two different times of the day).

My guy, btw, is roughly 5 months old and still not very big nor has he shown any colors other then his green and his pissed off black.
I just assumed, he's a runt and sooner or later will hit that spurt

Food and supplement sounds good. Baby veieleds wont always show their colors at only 5 months. Mine is about 5 or 6 and hes just starting to show patterns, not even various colors besides varying shades of green. but his patterns are really coming in, im hoping hel get some yellow bars on him.
Good luck with your guy!

Pretty much what I assumed. Just tired of everybody asking why he doesnt change colors, why is he still so small. When will he get all the patterns and colors, etc. He eats well, he hydrates good. His poops are big, brown, white, and slimy. He's a cool light/neon green looking color. He sleeps when it gets dark and wakes when it gets light. he doesnt even sleep in the corners behind leaves anymore, he will sleep in the open.

So I assume he is healthy as can be, he is just taking longer then usual to grow and advance.

Chameleons are a patience pet. You google image them and you see bright beautiful patterns and colors and you want one, then you wait and wait....
