why is my chameleon climbing the top of the screen cage?

i attached a picture. is he not getting enough uvb? i have tons of leaves and places to hide but he’s climbing the top

Very common the first few weeks for them to go as high as they can to feel safer. Right now it does not know if anything else is in the cage with it and if your watching it a lot it will stress it out.

They feel safer the higher they are, and probably some exploring. Mine used to use the screen top for his "chameleon superhighway." Not so much now that he's bigger & heavier, but he still tries sometimes.
 
Since he's climnpbing on the cage ceiling, it would be a good idea to test the basking light temperature just under the screen to make sure he won't get burned.
Hold your hand inside the cage against the screen Palm side down and if you would like to move your hand, the light is likely to burn your chameleon.
