Why is mu chaneleon eating wood?

I saw my panther chameleon today trying to eat a branch and managing to get some in his mouth and eat it. Is that normal?

Be careful he can't choke on any, but otherwise it is normal for Panthers to gnaw at wood occasionally for whatever reason. Usually see it more often in juevenile.

Ok thanks! Yeah my panther is 3/4 months old and he is eating in small pieces

I have had some do this as well. All normal, but it scared the crap out of me at the time, for sure.
