Why do they bask sideways? And feeding question

I took the jacksons out today for some fresh air and sunshine.

The temps today ranged from 68-72. I noticed both females basking sideways. Any reasons why they would be doing this?

Also is it ok to feed them daily? I would like to put a little weight on them

my guess is they're leaning to the side to catch more heat by expanding the area facing the sun directly. i wouldn't worry

I agree. Not only do they position themselves sideways to the sun but also seem to expand their bodies to catch more rays.
