Whole prey for cats???

I feed a 'high quality' dry food and some random canned food right now to my cats, but I'd like to offer them some better nutrition. Anyone have suggestions? I was looking at hare-today and a few people gave recommendations, but I've never done it before so I'm just trying to see what my options are. There's no way I can feed them all raw, all the time, imo the pricing is just ludicrous, unless I'm missing some cheaper way out there.

My dads old cat was an indoor/outdoor cat so she would just stay outside and eat rabbits and mice, if she couldn't find any she would come back inside and eat her catfood. My indoor cat now just eats the Aldi or Walmart brand catfood and we give her raw fish fellets every once in a while. I just can't imagine spending $70 on a ten pound bag of catfood. But people say blue buffalo is great and my cats loved it when we got a sample bag once.

Lol I buy the petcurean it's 60$ for 15lbs but lasts a long time for indoor cats that don't need much. I may be getting a savannah (half serval, half domestic) and I'd want to feed it raw.

I used to feed my cat a certain food that was $80 for a tiny bag for her bladder until it cleared up. The vet sai it was because she didn't drink enough water. When I say that my cat was fat, I mean she was so fat she wouldn't even drink because she was so worried about eating, I never once saw that cat drink water. We had to switch her to wet cat food so she could at least stay semi hydrated.

I like taste of the wild for my dogs. They have a feline formula that I bought for my mom's cat to try because it was a very finicky eater and was getting quite skinny. She had tried a lot of different foods to no avail. However, her cat really liked the stuff and has since resumed eating AND stopped all the vomiting. It is a premium food but not as expensive as many. I know that a lot of fleet farm stores sell it. Otherwise I beleive i saw it available at Chewie.com.

Its also only like 15 or 20 for a 10 lb bag of the feline formula. It is all natural ingredients and no by product. My moms vet checked it out when she she said her cat would actually eat it and said it seemed like pretty good food.

I know man, just for this 1 cat I'm going to feed raw like once a day mixed with some canned and a little kibble. Definitely can't afford to feed all 3 of them raw all the time.

The Savanna's are beautiful cats' but most come with Heffy price tags depending on generations F1,F2, F3 and so on. Prices up to 30.000 bucks ouch! Have to check state regulations on owning one too. I have 4 Singapura's great personalities who follow you around the house and have to set on your lap. The smallest cat breed. I uses to show my one male. He was the one only Singapura entry in all the shows I attended. So of course he'd got Best of Show, Best of Breed etc. will that got old real fast. So after 5 shows I stopped traveling around the Midwest.
James and your girl friend should checkout YouTube. This one video shows 2 Savannha playing fetch with their owner. Seeing the size of those cats next to the back of their couch as they run for the toy down the hallway Wow awesome .

Those singapuras are like little monkeys lol. Pretty cool. Idt savannah go for the 30k they used to, F1s seem to be around 12-20k f2s are around 5-9k, and so on. Still very expensive though! If we get one it'd be a few thousand. I've loved everything about them for years and my GF is all about it, so we may pitch up. Of course my mom tells me I'm crazy and should be saving for a house so I'm not renting for the rest of my life, but ehhh. No fun in that

See I'm not a huge fan of them, they're cool, but I wouldn't want to spend the money on them. You see some cats cost just as much as savannah and aren't half as cool, I mean savannah can go on walks and are more of bonded companion animals. How awesome is that lol?!

My Singapura's run around 1500.00. I only had one litter with my female. I sold the the only female kitten to a nice couple in Oklahoma. He was driving up for her but the weather was so bad. He called me to see how far away I was to Detroit airport ... told him about 1 1/2 hours at most. So he booked a round trip ticket for just himself. Wife stayed home. We sat and talked to him a hour and his return flight an hour after we sad our good byes. We still keep in contact with the lovely couple . He was a preacher .
There is a breeder in Michigan with Savannha's not a bad price call Star Fall Savannah's .

Hey sweetie, I do raw for my dog and I've done major research into raw for cats without any supplements and it's totally possible. Sadly I can't do it because the transition is too dangerous with my diabetic cats, however raw would likely solve his glucose issues. *makes face* Anyway, look into RFM (raw feeding miami) and if you have a chest freezer the price will be worth it. Their shipping is the best I have ever seen at any raw feeding supplier and they have the most proteins and cuts available.

For cats to get the taurine content they need on a daily basis without supplements, feed as dark as meat as possible. Look into feed whole hearts and sliced tongue, ground meat will cause more taurine to be exposed to air and to degrade into a useless amount.
