I kept mine in a Reptarium with a windowscreen bag over it. You could also look for cages people keep butterflies in. The opening for the screen bag was tied shut with a rubber band. When I wanted to catch some flies I slipped a container with a loose lid and my hand into the bag opening, scooped some flies into the container, and shoved the lid on it before pulling my hand out. Then released the flies into the cham's cage.

put them in the refrigerator for a couple of minutes to cool them down and make them go dormant. The freezer works too, but not for too long or you'll kill them. Once chilled, you can shake them all into a net cage or other type enclosure. You can cool them down, again, when you need to get some for feeding. They'll eat honey that I smear on the net cage and I also mist the net cage for them to get moisture. Just don't honey and mist together or it's a sticky mess and the honey drips everywhere. Good luck with your flies. I have got a batch of BBs "brewing". I should have plenty to pupate soon.

I keep them chilled and raise them in small batches of approx. 10. I put them in disposable containers from the grocery store, small plastic containers from the produce section or deli. When they hatch I put the group of 10 in the freezer for 90 seconds and then I dump them in the cham cage while they are still out and then stand back and watch the fun. I feed them to my green anoles also and one of them leaped thru the air today to get a fly. They all love them.
