My chameleon is currently shedding , but he has this discoloration on the side of his body should I be worried ?

That looks like a minor burn. The skin is light colored till its healed. Maybe a mild first degree. If it was a second degree or a good first degree, it would be a bit puffy and even ooze a bit. And if it was abrasion damage it would be dark colored, not light.
