Lighting - Reptisun 5.0 and a 70w house bulb for about 13 hours a day
Temperature -mid 70's at cage bottom and sides(house temp) upper 80's to low 90's for basking, i use a crappy analog gauge, gonna get a digital soon though.
Humidity - usually around 40's but with a dramatic bump every two hours when the mister goes off, 2 minutes at a time, 5 times a day
Plants - ficus tree, biovines
Location -cage is in medium-low traffic room, about 4 feet off the ground no ac, window can occasionally let a small breeze his way
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Panther, male, 5 1/2 - 6 months, in my care for about a month and a half (doubled size from then)
Handling - 5-6 times a week for 5-20 minutes at a time
Feeding - usually 6-8 crickets a day, a few superworms every day or so, and a wax or horn worm here or there for a treat, crickets are gutloaded with nature zone total bites, the rest eat what they come in.
Supplements - just started a new diet, hasnt had time to take effect, was using way to much d3(every day), now on a few feeders a day; calcium 3 times a week, d3 once a week, multivitamin every other week, fish oil every other week on one feeder. once again this really has not had time to take effect just started last week after i realized my error of using calcium with d3 every day on all the feeders.
Watering - mist king, 2 minutes at a time, 5 times a day, i see him drink a lot
Fecal Description -never been treated YET. good sized/texture looking poo with urate that is more orange than i would like. I keep bumping the water schedule to longer, and am seeing improvements. Need more time to tell.
History -Got him and his girlfriend at a show, in worse health than they appeared. have been looking better every day. He has had this eye problem before, about 2 weeks ago, and i cut d3 from his diet and it went away in a few days.
Current Problem - finally, the problem, Clyde, this morning he developed this semi translucent white film in his eyes, then if i mist him heavily, he blinks them off, problem is he cant see to well when they are over his eyes and will not eat as much or drink as well till the film comes off. This is not the first time this happened, about two weeks ago this happened but stopped shortly after i removed d3 from his diet which i was giving him every day according to a pet store... (dont get me started). I did my home work on supplements and redid his schedule? could this eye problem be related to the previous d3 overdose??? thanks for the help, if it doesnt get better in the next day or two i will be going to a vet. i would post a picture but i soaked him this morning to help him get the film off and there isnt much to look at for the moment, if it redevelops i will take a picture. thanks again
