I was wondering where do you guys get your soil for your live plants? I went to Lowes today and checked for soil that didnt have fertilizer but when I was looking I had no idea what I was looking for. Seems to me that everything has something in it and I didnt want to get anything that would harm my chameleon. What types of soil do you get for you live plants?

Good call on not using processed soils that contain perlite, chemicals and fertilizers. You can purchase plain topsoil in bags at Lowes, then sift through a colander prior to using. Remember even the topsoil brands that claim “no sticks or rocks” are commonly loaded with it. Also, it might sound strange, but break open the bags that you are going to buy and take a look at and smell the soil. Yes, smell it. Sometimes the soil is contaminated. In May I purchased a bag from Lowes that had trash in with the soil. Pieces of old plastic, unidentifiable other materials that had a motor oil-like, greasy substance on it. I retuned that bag with a complaint to Lowes. Talk about selling trash…
