You can cross spiders off the list, not something you want to be feeding to your chameleon. I also responded to your question in another thread about the mantids. Stick insects are illegal but there are ways getting around that
. Coastal Silkworms is good and their shipping prices aren't out of control being that they are located on the east coast near us.

Not mine, I prefer Bing.
For shipping to FL, the cheapest shipping is $16 I believe, so Coastal Silkworms is a better choice for someone on this side of the country.

Im aware of that, they do have silkworms and hornworms. If you read my other post I referred you to I mentioned that on the Mantid Forum (mantidforum.net) people often give away mantises because they have too many on their hands, you just have to pay shipping.

you can gut load supers but not silks or hornworms.
Silks will only eat silkworm chow, or mulberry leaves.
Hornworms in the wild eat tomato plants and tobacco plants.

Why is everyone so against feeding spiders? My chams go insane for them! I have been feeding certain spiders off for sometime now and I have had no problems. Ive got all these young/small wolf spiders coming out and have been feeding them to my 1.5 month old Kinyongia tavetana babies for the last few weeks when I catch them.

I think its mostly because most of us on here cant properly identify spiders. I mean most know what a black widow or brown recluse look like. But as far as iding a spider i catch in my yard im at a loss. Thats why i dont feed many buterflys either.

I feed spiders personally, but I dont recommend it to others because as Texas said, they can often be misidentified and some can cause a problem. Being that all spiders contain some type of venom you can never be too careful.

I do see the problem with not knowing what species of spiders you are feeding also. Any WC bugs should be properly ID'd before fed off, of course!

I know wolf spiders are essentially harmless to humans, but I thought they were still capable of delivering a venomous bite. Or is it because you're feeding young spiders? (This is more out of curiosity, I don't plan on feeding spiders as I'm no expert at identifying them either)
