Wher Can I keep my Chameleon???

was wondering where you guys keep your chameleons. i dont have an extra room and the basement is usually a little chilly during the winter months. i have plenty of room in my room though so i was wondering if it is sanitary and healthy to keep my chameleon (when i get it) in my room? also where do you guys keep yours?

I keep mine in my bedroom. not much traffic there until I go to sleep

Same as sancho! I have a complete blackout blind over my enclosure just to make sure no light gets in there to disturb him when I go to bed! I only roll it down after the lights go off and my guy is asleep then roll it up when I'm getting into bed so it doesn't spook him in the morning!

I keep 3 in my room, they would be better room mates if I could get them to pay rent..


Any room will be ok permitting that the temps are stable and the amount of traffic is limited.

I keep two of my chams in my garage, VERY low traffic quiet, always room temp. and i keep my oustalet outside, he loves the natural sun and florida heat.

Because he walks in the room, does a strip show gets in his pj's, rehearses a ten minute 'riverdance' with backup dances from 'solid gold' and gets down with 'Funky town' like James Brown, every night at bedtime? LOL

he means hes the only traffic and thats when hes going to bed.

P.s Keep my cham in the bedroom. Sanitation is up to you!

I have my 4 in my office (its spacious as the size is equivalent to a large bedroom) the only person in there is me. I don't like sharing my bedroom....with critters

I have a large walk in closet (too large for just my clothes) with awesome shelving- perfect for a average sized chameleon cage. I find that it's very easy to control the ambient temp (since I don't own the house, I can't just go and mess with the heat) and the humidity stays a smidgen higher than average in a smaller than normal room. Also, since my chams aren't in the middle of my room, they aren't bothered when I'm up there (unless I'm screwing around in their closet)
