I have bred my Nosy Be male and female almost 4 weeks ago. She is showing gravid colors and has since the day after they were bred. The laying bin is in her cage and she is as big as a house but I can't tell if I feel any eggs or not. She is still eating very well and when placed in the laying mixture she climbs right out. Should I be secluding her at this point? Need some help....

Secluding her ? Like separate her from the male? I would if thats what you are asking. Just let her be she'll lay when she's ready.

You say it's been about a month since they bred? She should lay soon for your, if not you will have to get a medicine from the vet to make her lay her clutch. She should quit eating sometime soon before she lays her eggs. How big is the laying bin? I suggest a 5 gallon bucket with a sand and soil mixture to lay the eggs. Make sure it is able to dig a stable tunnel which I'm sure that you know.

Usually they go off feed for a cpl of days before laying. But Ive had some eat right up til the day before laying depends on the female. Some will roam the cage for a few days before laying. Some will just head down and start digging. Depends on the female. If she starts looking dehydrated and hasnt laid. I would get her a shot or two of oxy and a shot of liquid calcium.
Avg time is around a month up to about 45 days. When they go over 45 days I start getting worried an think a vet visit is in order. You dont want to wait too late or the oxy wont work. All it does is make the animal go into contractions and lay the eggs. If you wait too long the eggs can fuse together and then its physically imposssible to lay them naturally. Surgery is the only option at that point.

Secluding her as in covering her cage. She hasn't been near the male since they bred. Here are some pics. The laying bin I have is an oversized flower pot with a mix of peat moss and reptile sand. It holds a good tunnel as I have made some myself. I think I'm just impatient at this point LOL.

looks good to me. My girl usually just goes right down into her planted pot and just knows what to do. Pretty impressive i thought every time.

She keeps eating like a horse and is getting bigger and bigger. She may pop. I'm figuring another week or so before I'm taking her to the vet for an inducement.
