ok i bought my ambilobe male panther cham about three weeks ago and im curious...i can tell a lil red and some blue but not much his hatch date was 11-29-12..he is beautifull in my own eyes but i am curious as to when he will start getting his colors...thanks :)

Some panthers develop later than others.. it could be right after his next shed, or it may not happen until hes 6 months old

Can i see a pic? My male is 1 day younger than yours and has tons of colour that he started developing about 3 and a half months old:confused:

Just double checked the date and mine was born 4 weeks before yours but hes had alot of colour for a while now is there none?

They are really all different. My Sambava in my avatar was an ugly duckling at 6 months! He had hardly any color and look at the way he turned out! My Ambanja that I just posted a thread on just started to color up over the past few weeks. He just turned 6 months old today. It really depends on the chameleon. It will happen, you just have to be patient!!!

are you dusting correctly...calc...multi vit...d3?? i have a particular schedule i follow and i got Charlie wonka from a guy who didn't know what he was getting into..he had some blue some green but other colors were present but dull. he was 2 years old...since i had him he has went HD!! i have seen him go from vivid green and blue to blue and red one day i was astonished to see red blue orange and yellow it was awesome!! i figured the since he was getting more then just dusted crickets was the reason....i feed horns ..butters..meals..and bug burger loaded crickets try it out he might amaze you too

my profile pic is a recent pic of him..hes got alot of green but if you look real close i see a bunch of red spots and also some blue..but like i say he is young still..i was just curious thanks

can you tell me what kind of foods vitamins etc..that u use..i have the calcium dust and gut load crickets with grain wheat and carrots and a few other stuff but not bug burger im not sure what that is or were to get it...if you would please give me a exact feeding schedule and what you do exactly if you dont mind please i would highly appreciate it..a bunch...also what other vitamins am i missing agian..the whole thing you use please lol i beg you...lol thanks so much for your time and support..god bless

He's still young, he may not really start to pop until he hits 6 months, give or take. No two animals are the same and different locales will develop differently as well.

Here is a blog with two panther males from different locales, raised the same way, showing how differently they can mature: Two Panthers Growing Up - Photo Progression
It might calm your nerves a little.

Ha. I'm on the same boat as you. I love my panther but everytime I go to this forum and look at pictures of chameleons here that have vibrant colors and are about the same age as mine I get mad jealous. Haha. I got mine from a reputable breeder though and the sire looks awesome. I guess I just need to be patient. Haha.

the calc spray i use every feeding. shake it up and py your insects

the blue label herptivite.. is multivits with beta carotene. i feed them that every week.

the red label calc with vit D i feed that every two weeks it is also phosphorus free so your reptile isn't getting to much. that's important the multi has plenty

the repti calc is loaded with d3 i feed heavey for a week one a month

the bug burger is by repashy superfoods....EXCELLENT gut load...it has awesome nutrients the crickets love it and cannot drown in it because it jells up real thick. great for your reptiles

so the break down

week 1...spray calc and a shake of multi
week 2...spray calc
week 3...spay calc red lable phos. free vit d
week 4...repti calc with d3 and multivit
and repeat your cham will be a happy comfortable completely healthy strong insect destroying machine....the bug burger you to keep your feeders gut loaded..all insects love it even worms

I was super disappointed in my Ambilobe. He was a dull grey/brown and green until 8 months then POP, overnight He was screaming Yellow with Red bars! So far all of His offspring are super dull too and they are going on 4 months! Then I have a Blue Bar who is screaming at 5 months, it all depend on the lines I believe!
