I got my Jacksons Chameleon about 6 months ago at a reptile expo. Recently, over the past week or so, Ive noticed that my chameleon hasnt been eating the crickets he usually has. Also, one or both of his back legs usually hands off the branch when hes grabbing onto it. I have a UVB and heat bulb in the enclosure and dust the crickets in calcium powder, I have no idea what the problem is and i need help!

Any idea of whats wrong with him?

So what you are saying is he is missing the branch when he tries to grab on to it? Is that al you are feeding is crickets? If so, he is probably bored with the food.

He wont grab onto the branch with one of his back legs, and sometimes he doesnt with either. Im suspecting gout... what do you think?

Does he dangle the leg entirely or just sort of lift it off the branch?

My Jax rotates one or two feet into a resting position when he sits in one spot for a long time. The resting leg will either loosely grip the branch or be slightly off the branch. He has always done this, so I interpret it as natural behavior. If he started favoring one leg or started dangling a limb all the time, then I might worry.

He dangles it off the branch, he just started doing it a few days ago along with not eating crickets. Also hes a bit shakey when he walks.
