i got given this guy a couple of days ago from a guy who had a couple of chams but wanted to get rid of a few because he didnt have time to look after them anymore.
When he arrived he was dehydrated but i sorted that out and he is absolutely fine, eating drinking, active, alert and shedding apart from this thing on his side. The guy who gave him me said he had always had it and he wasnt worried. I am.
I think a trip to the vets is in order, just wondered if anyone has any idea if this is just a "skin tag" or something more sinsister.

he has been kept in a screen viv previously but the guy was using soil as substrate and no live plants. Dont think this has anything to do with it although i have rectified these issues.

not right now, i only have that one of the night he arrived. Ill take some more today at some point, the reason why i think it may be serious is that his skin seems to be growing over it, it has a few blue scales on it, i think that the fact it has been able to facilitate the growth of new skin means its alive and growing itself!!!

Thank you!! the whole lump looks kinda gray and purple, its weird, i know he has lived for this long with it but i think the vets is probably the best idea, i do not know if it has been this size for the whole time or if it has grown, dont really want to wait and see!

I suspect that it will be something that the vet will recommend removing, if possible. It could be a simple abscess or a benign tumor. I had my vet do a biopsy of a lump on the back of my ~5yr-old Nosy Be'. The results stunned us both - a malignant tumor . Due to its location being tangled into the spinal area etc. we decided not to operate. It's been many months since then and the cancer has slowly spread but he still does all of his normal routines seemingly unaffected. When that isn't the case, I'll have an unpleasant decision to make .

"mr freeze" has an appointment with the vet on wednesday (she's away till then) I will let you all know the outcome....fingers crossed!!

It is an absess, the vet said that it can be left alone but would be harder to remove if it got any bigger. So i am going to have it removed! also found out that his real name is chubbs. The vet has seen him before about this absess!

my yemen is just over 7 months old and the casque on his head is started to bend slightly and now alump has appeared at the top!!!! i think its similar to the one on urs side.............should i get it checked out????
