Whats the oldest? Need input

So im trying to breed my sambavas my female is a little over a year old and my male is 4yrs old ...i put them together before and it seemed like he got her but she ended up having a clutch of infertile eggs so im not tok sure what happen i put ...when i put them together my male kinda seems to take long to mount her...so idk ...is my male to.old to still be breeding or is 4 yrs old too old to breed?

He might be to old at four. He could have arthritis or another health problem that chameleons get when they start aging. I know some truly caring small time breeders that retire their males after three.

Hmmm...so i shouldnt try to breed him with my female?or it wouldnt hurt to try?
