Sorry to hear about your Cham. Sometimes it's hard to figure out exactly what is wrong especially when it happened so quickly. It's awesome that you're taking him to the vet on Monday. All I can advises is just to make him comfortable and keep him hydrated until Monday and it might be a good idea to move his cage because Black mold is very toxic and is known to cause all types of respiratory problems in humans. Who knows what the effects would be on animals?

He has already seen the vet and is being treated for a uri. After speaking with the property manager at my apartment complex I will be transferring units to get away from the mold. I work for the complex I live at and we have been having a problem with the ground floors getting black mold. I moved Kylos cage and hope he will get better.

Yah it's a good thing your changing apartments. I have little doubt the black mold is your problem. It's my understanding it can be quite deadly to humans too. Good luck I hope things get better for you.

The mould is because the walls aren't insulated enough and your room is very humid, as the wall gets cold it condensates. You can minimise this by increasing the temperature or by increasing the ventilation. That's why the mould is behind your cabinets, there's no air movement down there.

URI usually cause by,cage location next to a Windows,draft ,air condition vent,standing water,if you think u have all these,please find a way to clear all these asap cause it will continue to get the chameleon sick even when they get the treatment.

The mold also is because underneath the siding on these building is sheet rock with no vapor barrier. We are renovating the units as people move out. The current unit is also on a hillside where there is a lot of rain run off, the dirt around the buildings is up to or covering the first piece of the siding so when it rains and the water runs the sheet rock stakes up the water and it saturates the insulation and then mold! It is a huge problem were having here right now. I live in portland oregon where it rains all year!

We remove the affected area inside and replace sheet rock. Then remove siding and outside sheet rock LOL and put Osb in with tar paper ontop, dig out the foundation and install French drains.
