What type of reptile is this

So I'm in the dominican republic and I aaw this little lizzard hanging out on a wall. I'm guessing it is eather a type of anole or a gecko because it was holding on to a very smoth surface.

it is one of the species of gecko commonly known as a house gecko. There are 2 or 3 species, all very similar in habit, and all world travelers. We have some in a city about 30 minutes from me which is not tropical at all (snows and temps get in the single digits and less). These geckos have survived by moving into buildings where the temperature remains "warm" all winter. Someone I know did a paper on them once.

One of my brothers lived there (Dominican Republic) for a while and had those cohabitating with him as well- very common there I think.
