What type of moth is this?

Found this moth chillin on a rock wall. It is really cool looking and I have never seen anything like it. It is still alive and looks okay. Anyone know what it is and can I feed it to my melleri?

Looks like a Lime hawk moth. Given it's list of caterpillar host plants, and believe the moth itself, is a nectar drinker. So one should be relativly safe.

I think it's a Sphinx Moth...I feed them to my cham all the time and he loves them!!

It is an Achemon Sphinx Moth... perfectly fine to use as a feeder.

Well Bodie missed the first time so I had to hold the wings still . He didn't quite get it the second time and the moth got away and was flying all over the place, LOL. Third time's the charm, Bodie took it and it had one wing hanging out and flapping Bodie in the face. I was too slow with the camera, it was great!

I love watching Triton as he eats natural caught foods such as moths and June bugs...It's great fun!!!
