Congratulations on this new endeavor. Did she actually breed with a male?
How large, deep is the sandbox? Our velied chams took 6 to 8 hours to complete the digging, laying, covering procedure. If she continues to dig, and starts her tunnel, then she should be fine for hours. When she finishes, covers her holes, and goes back onto her branches- you should then mist her down REAL good and then offer her some food. Be very faithful with the calcium supplement schedule, gutloading, and misting for a couple weeks to get her good and strong.

Don't let her see you watching her when she is digging...it will likely make her stop digging and if it happens often enough it can lead to egg binding.
Female veileds can lay infertile eggs when not mated.
The female needs a suitable egglaying container. When empty it has to be big enough for her to fit in with a couple of inches on all sides of her (including above her and below her) as a bare minimum size. Many will lay in this size....some need to be moved to a larger container. I fill the container about 2/3rds full of washed playsand that has been moistened so that it will hold a tunnel.
She may dig the hole for a couple of days before laying the eggs. Once she has laid the eggs, she should fill in the hole and pack it down...then return to the branches. Don't dig the eggs up until she has gone back up in the branches.
Once she is done, feed her well and water her well too.
