What to do?

I'm about to buy a second MISTKING system.. Should I use it to reduce my caliptratus watering or increase my melleri's intake? Leaving my veiled & panthers or panthers & melleri on the same system? Right now they all recieve water to meet my mellers needs. Thanks for any input, Jim

Hi,

First, imo, the herpmist system kicks butt. It is quieter, won't break if it goes empty, and if i remember correctly, is cheaper.

Second, Melleris need or like much more water than most of the other chams. My melleri would gladly drink for 20-30 min at a time where veils usually are quiet happy with half of that. It probably won't hurt to have your veils have more water then they need as long as you are letting the enclosure dry out in between mistings and stop it a couple hours before lites out. But don't decrease your melleris, they love the water.l

What sort of schedule do you have for the melleri's needs?

How many chams do you have? Maybe you need something like this:

This has four misting zones, makes RO water, self cleans, and doesn't waste any water (pumps 'waste' water back into home for reuse)

right now. i mist 15 min @ 9:30 am, half an hour after lights on, 5 min @ noon, 5 min @ 3pm and 15 min at 7pm then lights out @ 9pm. never seen my vieleds drink but urates are white. my mellers drinks at every opportunity, panthers some where in the middle. thats quite the system youve got there! ive been thinking about geting an R.O. unit but for now i use tap water, bottled became to expensive once i added the melleri

That system would run a lot... since it is fully automated. but RO isn't THAT much... depends on how fancy you go. but it is worth spending the money on zero waste (pumping 'waste' water back into the home). You won't waste water down the drain so your water bill will be much less money.

I've been looking around @ R.O. units.. found a no waste one @ costco. guess if i dont buy the second mistking i could pick it up. does my misting schedule sound alright? or too much for the vieleds?
