Timers are your friends! I have my lights on timers and my misting system on a timer as well. So all I do if I'm leaving a weekend is to empty out the drainage buckets, fill up the misting reservoir bucket, give them a good meal, and head out.
I've left for 2 weeks before several times and only had a friend come by every 3 days or so to feed and maybe refill the reservoir. This only works when everyone is either an older juvie or an adult, of course, but I've never come back to find anyone unhappy, unhealthy, or neglected. And it's less of a burden on a friend than coming over every day to take care of several things on the check-list. Because the more responsibility you entrust to a friend, the less they'll end up doing.
Certainly paying a pet-sitter is the best, most reliable alternative but it is difficult to find reptile sitters. Especially if you've switched to feeding mostly roaches (and I don't know how much I trust them to not have any escape while handling!) and use lots of different supplements. So making sure your set-up is automatic and reliable is the best thing to do, and then if you can get a pet-sitter/friend then perfect.
