maybe I'm mean but I kind of like them eating crickets, because crickets annoy me (more so now that I've had to deal with them).

there are some things I want to feed him (and thinking of getting soon) that I would sort of feel bad for feeding him (like mantids and butterflys)

can anyone please List everything that a panther chameleon can eat. Ibwould like to feed my panther a mice

this thread should be closed because things have been said over and over on each side o either "yes" or "no"

but overall you dont need to

if oyu want to feed mice get a snake jmho

IMHO...dog/cham will eat! I have snakes and hundreds of them at that. As long as my "pets" are healthy and safe I dont care what they eat as long as it is right and isnt hurting them. Myself I wouldnt feed mice to my insect eater but the vid is kool :) I hate mice the same as crix!

We also have sum wild owl's that we hand feed about a dozen or two of mice a week by hand and it is the koolest thing I have EVER done with an animal. The daddy takes em outta our hand and momma takes it from him and back to the babies. Such a rush and AWSOME feeling. Did I say I HATE mice, lol?

chameleons are "insectivorious" they arent meant to digest live kill like warm blooded meat..its like eating raw chicken for people..its possible, seen people do it and live, but i wouldnt reccomend it at all..

to say on another note, i have seen chams eat birds, small mammals, slugs, snails, worms, basically anything they can fit in the mouth...

"you can eat bees, but they are soo spicy it stings" lol

Well, I didn't watch the video, because I would probably find it icky, but if the chameleon is big enough to eat a mouse, then I guess that's what it should be eating.

I disagree with the idea that they are "insectivores" I don't think any animal is actually an insectivore and chameleons are known for eating vegetation as well as animals, so it's bunk to my mind.

Me, I would prefer to feed insects because I'm horrible that way...non-mammals don't make me feel bad when I feed the to my pets, but really, even I know that's a pretty pathetic stand.

They're animals, they eat what they consider food.

i would love to do this! owls are such beautiful birds, i wanna feed them.

i will not feed my chams mice or other rodents, there is no need for me to do this,my crix are gutloaded well and my chams are healthy and happy with their food and treats..i have read that the fat/protein and vitamin content in mice is really hard on the kidneys/liver etc of a cham..not to mention i would assume also they cant be to easy to digest:eek: so i will continue to stick to what has been working well for us..no rodents for my chams :p  ;)
