Under this is a series of green blocks or green dots.. some of these are brighter than others and everyone has a differant number of green dots.....
What are those things?

I am not sure exactly what the algorithm that this forum vendor uses but I am sure both reputation points received and number of posts are factored in somehow. Most forums have something of the sort, I usually just ignore them.

I think for every 200 rep points you get a dark green square and it takes more points to get the light green ones, then after a certain point you just receive the points(you can check them on your user cp)and no more green squares. if you want to give someone some points for something they posted that you liked, you click on the little scale icon in the upper right handcorner of the post(next to the exclamation mark) I don't think you get points for numerous posts (mods correct me if I am wrong)

I think that's right. Solid Snake has rep points disabled, that's why we only see a black dot.
