What size Reptisun tube needed?

Hi all,

What size Reptisun10 tube, im going for the 10 as its outside of the mesh, + will have the right size reflector on it ,would you go for? my yemens new 24x24x46 screen encloser?

The sizes here are 18 and there is a 24 and bigger ones,

Would the 18 be ok? as obviously with the connectors on will make it bigger?

And also why on the lighting what size dome would you go for? thanks

What kind of screen are you using? If your cage is normal window screen, you won't need the 10.0. a 24" fixture would work well. If you can find a 6500K lamp to use along side of the UVB lamp, your plants will grow better.

Hi thanks for the reply, Its a Reptibreeze screen encloser,

I was told 10 would be ok as they can lose up to half of the rays on the mesh? I have used 10 on my other enclosers, jacked up around 3-4 inch off the mesh with a reflector and it seems fine,if its not i can get 5 thats fine,

I wont be using any plant lights, so just needbulb length i was thinking 18 as this should not over hang with the fittings on? would this be enough? or would you still opt for the 24? thanks

If you can't have overhang... go with the 18" if you can have over hang, go with the 24".

It sounds like you'll be ok if you raise the lamp up a couple of inches like you said.

Not only will the 6500K help your plants, it provides a lot more light in the cage. a 10.0 lamp and a heat lamp is not very bright.

Hi thanks i did think about going for the bigger and putting it corner to corner, but i will still do that with the 18 i think, as long as its going to be enough for my cham, and again i will have it off the mesh a few inches,

I will think about getting a plant light once i have all my chams enclosers together, as i see what you are saying about being dull, thanks
