What is this?

New owner here of 3 days w/3 month old panther. This evening, my little guy shows up with white/bluish markings/bars all over him. What is this? Is he starting to shed? colors starting to come out? something else?? nothing at all? just kind of worried here (starting to feel normal to worry about *every*thing!) Any ideas?

Yeah they are funny when they shed, mine was going through hell and back to get shed off of her face lol its funny what they will do to get the littlest piece of skin off

Whew! thanks so much everyone. I had no idea what was going on. I'll keep an eye on him and make sure he is misted well. Good to know now what is happening; at least I won't worry so much.

He's about three months old & he's an ambilobe. He has only been in my house 3 days and I'm just trying to let him settle in without worrying myself to death! lol Actually, he seems to be doing very well.

^ Yes, it is!

You guys were so right. He is shedding all over the place this morning. There is skin all over the enclosure. I took a pic or two earlier (below) and now he is actually getting close to being done, I think. He is a little dark now in his new skin, although it may not look like it in the pics. I hope he lightens up. He's eating though & drinking from the leaves, so I think he is ok.

Ok, well, I guess I'll try to stop worrying until the next thing happens I don't know about! Thanks for all the input.

Those are great. One thing he might do that people find weird is eat the shed skin. It's not a problem, it doesn't mean he's got any sort of nutritional problem. Not all of them do it but enough do that I thought I would warn you.

Thanks for letting me know but he hasn't touched the skin! I was actually expecting him to eat it, but he didn't. They are all different, I guess.
