yep that would be a grasshoper, if you caught it outside just be sure there are not pesticides used in the area you found him or keep it in a container for 24hrs or so and if it survives go ahead and feed it off

It's a grasshopper. If it came from a "natural" area that is not treated with pesticides and it seems active and healthy (if it seems disoriented or sick it could have gotten sprayed with something toxic) yes you can use it. Just be aware that any time you catch wild insects they could be contaminated with agricultural or pest control chemicals.
